FIVE-GOAL
MARTIN STARS AS COLESHILL LIFT CUP |
|||
A sensational five-goal
performance from Martin Bungay secured the North Berks League Cup for
Coleshill United Reserves, in a dramatic win over Warborough and
Shillingford Reserves.An enthusiastic crowd at Didcot Town's ground saw Warborough go two goals up through Steve Bayliss and Alan Wellman after 33 minutes, with Bungay glancing in header just before the interval. Bungay then raced clear to equalise on 50 minutes, and ten minutes later finished clinically to give Coleshill the lead for the first time. |
Warborough came back through Danny Cannon's angled drive but Bungay struck
twice more in quick succession to make it 5-3, his fifth being a stunning
left-foot volley. Warborough didn't give up and Steve Bayliss pulled it back to 5-4 with five
minutes left. Coleshill hung on but Warborough's consolation was to have
been involved in one of the most exciting finals seen for many years at any
level. |
